Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment at customer locations or on job sites. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, safety-conscious, capable of working independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:

Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Conduct regular preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.

Respond promptly to service calls and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.

Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.

Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues.

Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and offer recommendations.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
-
Maintain and manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies in service vehicle.

Keep service vehicle clean, organized, and in good working order.
Skills:
-
Strong mechanic skills with experience in diesel engine repair.

Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools for vehicle maintenance.

Knowledge of hydraulics systems and their operation.

Ability to fabricate components as needed for repairs.
-
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
-
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training or certifications in diesel technology preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a mobile or field service role.

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
